Harvey suspended, Stanton hits 2 HRs, Marlins beat Mets 7-0

You stand up, be accountable and move on.

According to club sources, Harvey claimed he was experiencing migraine headaches on Saturday after playing a round of golf and never showed up for the Mets' game against the Marlins.

"The last thing I ever want to do is not be here with my team", Harvey said then. The suspension is costing Harvey $84,016 of his $5,125,000 salary. He grounded into an inning-ending double play, but NY went on to win 4-3. "People make mistakes. There are team rules, and when team rules are broken there are consequences that have to be served, and obviously that's happening". Yelich doubled to center and then advanced to third on a Curtis Granderson throwing error before scoring. Baseball's labor contract says any punishment must be for "just cause".

Jose Reyes played shortstop and Wilmer Flores played third base in the Mets' 7-0 loss to the Marlins on Sunday. "Sandy did it", Collins said. "(Rivera) has been excellent over the last week or so and with (Wilmer) Flores back and Duda back shortly we think we're covered".

Harvey's suspension clearly has more to do with just a late text and a missed home game. "We will welcome Matt back when he gets back and continue moving forward". An anonymous team source has since told the Daily News that Harvey "has some growing up to do".

"At this point, we've been treading water and feeling like we've been sinking a little bit", manager Don Mattingly said. "You've got to play well otherwise you're going to get heckled in the outfield". "It's about our guys relaxing and having some fun".

Futures rise as risk-on sentiment improves
Brent crude futures were last down 1.1 percent at $48.80 a barrel while West Texas Intermediate was off 1 percent at $45.96. The last time the VIX touched a level this low, it was 1993 and Sleepless in Seattle was about to hit movie house marquees.

Left-hander Adam Wilk was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Harvey's roster and rotation spot. Tommy Milone or Rafael Montero will start Wednesday. May. But the truth is, there was plenty about which to make a fuss, especially for a team that had fallen off the grid for years before Harvey came along and Mets fans began to talk about Harvey Day like it was a local baseball holiday, and every one of his starts suddenly felt like the main event in NY baseball.

Apparently the need for a quality start was not enough for the Mets to ignore on Harvey's absence on Saturday.

Monday's matchup with San Francisco will be the first game against a team outside the NL East for the Mets this season.

"He said he threw the ball to both sides of the plate", Collins said. What could they get for him if they traded him though? Instead, Harvey misses his start against the Miami Marlins, but that's not the bigger issue. "Swelling is managing better", manager Buck Showalter said.

"This going out with that other photo?" he told someone snapping a shot.
