Ontario boosts mental health supports across the province

"We may not be able to control or prevent those things that trigger mental health problems but we can work to improve wellbeing and resilience throughout our communities", he says. "This new investment has the potential to help countless students struggling with their mental health, and we look forward to working with the province to securing greater, more predictable and more sustainable investments in mental health at Ontario colleges and universities".

Investing in mental health services and supports is part of Ontario's plan to increase access to care, reduce wait times and improve the patient experience through its Patients First Action Plan for Health Care and OHIP+: Children and Youth Pharmacare Program - protecting health care today and into the future.

There are supports in place to help you cope.

Remember: the worst thing about a mental illness is pretending you don't have one.

"People with mental illness just need to pull themselves together and get busy".

Jay Cutler considering broadcasting career
He played in just five games in 2016 due to injury, but is the Bears' all-time passing leader and has 208 career touchdown passes. There is really no room for Cutler to return to the Bears at this point. "I missed you after the game".

The toolkit is meant to teach and inspire people to take an active role in their mental health and well-being, and to support others.

"Mental illness makes people violent".

"Everyone can suffer from mental illness at any stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood", says Michael Lappen, Administrator at the Behavioral Health Division. We know there are both genetic and environmental contributors to mental illness, including traumatic events such as serving in a war zone, rape, violence, auto accidents and loss of loved ones. Sometimes a person might respond after knowing you are consistently there for them. Mental Health America has also created an interactive quiz at to learn from Americans when they think specific behaviors or habits go from being acceptable to unhealthy.

"As mental health became a less taboo topic of public conversation over the last few years, we have seen increasing demand placed on already strained campus mental health services", said Rajean Hoilett, Chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario.

The next meeting for the Wellness and Prevention Coalition will be at 4 p.m. on May 9 at the Triton Conference Center at San Clemente High School, located at 700 Avenida Pico.
