US President Donald Trump publicly acknowledges Russia probe includes him

US President Donald Trump today appeared to confirm that he was being probed for firing the FBI chief and described it as a "witch hunt", as he asserted that there was no proof of his "collusion with the Russians" even after seven months of investigation.

The Post reported that the obstruction of justice investigation of the president began days after James Comey was sacked as the FBI Director on May 9.

If Mueller is investigating Trump's firing of Comey as possible obstruction of justice, he might want to learn about Trump's interactions with Rosenstein, the Justice Department official who wrote the memo criticizing Comey's performance before his firing.

The president wrote on Twitter, "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"

Dianne Feinstein, top Democrat on the US Senate Judiciary Committee, said she was "increasingly concerned" that Trump will fire both Mueller and Rosenstein. The intelligence committee is the lead congressional panel on the Russian Federation hacking scandal, including highly publicized hearings with fired FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

ABC's report comes as Trump said on Friday he is personally under investigation in the widening Russian Federation probe, over Comey's firing.

"You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

WASHINGTON (AP) - A member of the president's outside legal team said Sunday that Donald Trump is not under investigation, days after Trump tweeted about being the target of a "witch hunt".

Gulf leaders trade barbs as Qatar dispute shows no let-up
Saudi Arabia has also closed its land borders with Qatar, geographically isolating the tiny Gulf state. After Trump's trip to the Middle East last month, four U.S.

The transition order came the same day that Vice President Mike Pence's confirmed that he had hired a private lawyer to represent his interests in the expanding probe.

Trump left yesterday with his wife and young son to spend the weekend at Camp David for the first time, and is scheduled to return to Washington late today.

Trump's apparent attack on Rosenstein also raised further questions about whether Rosenstein will stay in his position or recuse himself from the investigation.

Trump was set to escape the Washington pressure cooker on Saturday.

Earlier this week, the investigation led by Mueller appeared to move closer to Trump. Mueller served as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under the Bush and Obama administrations from 2001 to 2013.

"Creating written records immediately after one-on-one conversations with Mr. Trump was my practice from that point forward", Comey said in a written statement, which was released ahead of his open testimony before the committee.

According to a new poll from the Associated Press and the University of Chicago's NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 61 percent of Americans surveyed believe Trump has tried to impede or obstruct the FBI's investigation into his campaign, while just 37 percent said they believe Trump hasn't tried to impede or obstruct the investigation.
